March 2025 – February 2028

“Wasel Project” spans three years, starting in March 2025, and aims to enhance social cohesion across and within four communities in Lebanon by addressing communal tensions and promoting dialogue, understanding, and respect.

The project focuses on youth and aims to enhance their capacities and motivation, supports them to design and implement community interventions, creating spaces and bringing together youth, public authorities, and active stakeholders to engage in dialogue, exchange cultural experiences, build partnerships, foster participation, and convey a youth perspective in municipalities’ strategies.

Areas of implementation: Choueifat (Mount Lebanon), Muhammara (Akkar), Saida (South), and Qab Elias (Bekaa).

The project hinges on inter- and intra-community activities, including:

  • Formation and capacitation of 4 core teams in the 4 areas of implementation.
  • Design and implementation of communal projects in collaboration with Municipalities, addressing the root causes of tensions and promoting social cohesion.
  • Sports, cultural, and artistic activities targeting youth and community members.
  • The project will be concluded in a final event bringing together all stakeholders to discuss lessons learned and celebrate achievements.
